City Year Serv-A-Thon

10/27/2007

Become a living example of the Firstrust Mission to cultivate prosperity in our communities by joining the Firstrust City Year team of 15 young adults on Saturday, October 27 at the Cecil B. Moore Recreation Center, from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm.

Since its inception in Philadelphia ten years ago, Firstrust Bank remains a proud sponsor of City Year, a unique youth service organization that engages diverse teams of 17-to-24 year-olds, or corps members, in a year of full-time community service, civic engagement and leadership development. For the 2007-2008 school year, the Firstrust City Year Team will mentor and work with high school students at West Philadelphia High School.

You can meet our City Year Team as all Firstrust employees and customers are invited to participate in a renovation and facelift to the Cecil B. Moore Recreation Center located at 2551 North 22nd Street in the West Allegheny section of Philadelphia. The planned projects will include painting murals at the site, landscaping, indoor cleaning and beautification, and the restoration of the center’s playground. Registration starts at 8:30am, the opening program is at 9:00am and renovations happen from 9:30am to 1:30pm. Lunch and closing ceremonies to follow.

The City Year Serv-A-Thon is a great community project that is fun and rewarding. The high energy, determination and dedication of the Firstrust City Year Team is often very infectious and provides an equally rewarding experience for employees, customers and family members, who are also welcomed to participate.
