Hiring expands Philadelphia-based Firstrust Bank’s current presence in Maryland market.

Firstrust Bank, a Philadelphia-based privately held bank, announced today that Todd Warren has been hired as the senior vice president and managing director of commercial banking in Maryland.

“We are thrilled to welcome Todd to the Firstrust team,” said Timothy J. Abell, Firstrust President. “It is clear that Todd is well-respected among his peers and colleagues, and we are confident in his leadership as Firstrust continues to grow as a member of the Maryland community.

Warren’s hiring expands the banks presence in Maryland, where a separate commercial real estate team led by senior vice president W. Brandt Butcher has been operating since the opening of a Firstrust lending office in Annapolis in 2017.

As the bank’s first commercial banking director in Maryland, Warren will develop, maintain and expand a portfolio of commercial banking relationships as he supervises a team to actively foster existing and potential customers in the market. That team includes:

  • Patrick Killpatrick, vice president and relationship manager, who holds more than 30 years of experience in commercial banking and joins the Firstrust team from Bay Bank/Old Line.
  • Lynn Mason, vice president and relationship manager, who holds more than 20 years of experience in banking and also joins the Firstrust team from Bay Bank/Old Line where she was a vice president and relationship manager.
  • Bryan Becraft, senior credit analyst, who began his banking career at Bay Bank/Old Line and has experience in underwriting commercial loan requests and developing business relationships in the Baltimore region.

Warren brings to Firstrust Bank more than 20 years of experience in the Baltimore banking market. Most recently, Warren acted as the Baltimore market president for Bay Bank/Old Line, where he was responsible for leading an expansion effort for Bay Bank's presence in the Greater Baltimore market by managing a team of commercial lenders.

Other past roles include senior vice president at Sandy Spring Bank, vice president at K Bank, and business development officer at Susquehanna Bank, rounding out Warren’s history in the industry.

Warren is a graduate of Gannon University where he received his bachelor’s degree in Marketing, and earned his master’s degree in 2007 from Notre Dame of Maryland University.  He is a past chairman of the Academy of Finance of Baltimore County, past chairman and current vice-chairman of the Center for Progressive Learning, vice chairman of the Star Spangled Banner Flag House, and a First District representative for the Baltimore County Planning and Zoning Board.

Warren has been recognized as a NEXT Leader in Banking Under 40 and a Smart CEO Leader in Finance for his work in the industry.
